Uwe Tangen

Uwe Tangen is electrical engineer in the field of control engineering and biology. He has extensive experience in evolutionary biotechnology (first evolution machine in Prof. Eigen's laboratory In Göttingen), with a Ph.D. in biology from the Biological Pharmaceutical Faculty of the University Jena in 1994. Together with BioMIP colleagues (in Jena and Sankt Augustin) he built one of largest reconfigurable computers in the world (MereGen) and the largest evolvable dynamically reconfigurable machine (Polyp). He is a member of IEEE, AAAI and EMCC. He is co-founder of spin-off company protostream GmbH and serving as senior scientist and coordinates the microelectronics and development of electronic feedback control for integrated microsystems in BioMIP.
