A world determined by worms!

WORMS??? - Trust me, it's not as bad as it sounds...

On the following pages I’ll try to give you a small insight into my world. As the title says, it’s heavily influenced by worms. But in a very positive way.

I’m a marine biologist working on tiny bristleworms that are found all over the world, well in the oceans at least. When I say tiny, I really mean tiny. Most of my little critters are merely few millimeters long.

And working on these little worms has actually sent me all over the world as well. I have been fortunate to set food on every continent of the world and been swimming in every ocean as well. The latter only if you consider the Red Sea to count as the Indic and if sea water pumped into an indoor swimming pool on a vessel can be considered the Southern Ocean (course that’s where the water came from). If you want to find out a little more specific details on my research career just click on the section ABOUT MYSELF.

All other sections will (hopefully) give you some impression on my adventures during my countless travels. I’ll also provide some basic background information on what I was doing there scientifically, but it’s all just my very own subjective point of view and rather superficial– so don’t use the information as reference when discussing scientific based topics somewhere.

The pictures shown were all taken by me myself. If you’d like to download and use them for whatever reason please contact me beforehand. I kind of insist on my copyright. But if it’s for a good reason you need them for I’m sure we can find an agreement.

So, enough of me ranting. Have fun exploring my world of worms…
