We have developed a kinetics simulation engine in Mathematica, in order to have a continuous span of modeling from homogeneous deterministic to stochastic and spatial modeling of chemical kinetics.
A key example being studied in this context is the Heinrich model of intracellular differentiation via vesicular transport.
