Hurok, Sol aka Solomon Isaievich Hurok aka Solomon Izrailevich Gurkov (1888-1974) → Global Index  → Persons Index
Ukraine-born American impresario. Managed major performing artists (among them the Russian painist Arthur Rubinstein and the African-American singer Marian Anderson) and arranged tours for artists from the Soviet Union to the United States (among them the Bolshoi Ballet in 1959 and, again, in 1962). Hurok's offices were bombed by the Jewish Defense League in 1972.
