American politician of the Republican party, senator for Wisconsin from 1947 to his death. Eponymous hero of the McCarthyism of the Second Red Scare, gained national prominence with his 1950 Lincoln Day Address in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Mormon Tabernacle Choir → Global Index  → Groups Index
Official Choir of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, named for its home in the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. Its history begins with the Mormon settlements in the Great Basin and the completion of the old Tabernacle in 1851.
Performed at four presidential inaugurations (1965, 1969, 1981, 1989) and other national occasions in the second half of the 20th century. From 1935 to 1957, J(oseph) Spencer Cornwall served as its conductor.
