GBS, under its byelaws and Memorandum of Articles of Association, has been authorised to work throughout the Indian territory. In the past activities in relation to HIV/AIDS have been implemented in Rajasthan and Tamilnadu whereas other programmes in general encompassed over 200 villages in 6 districts of Rajasthan. The target population of intervention programmes implemented so far by GBS are all villages situated in the remote quite away from the national highways or main roads. In most cases the villages are not connected with link roads, having the implication that some of them are still deprived of source of potable water and electricity. Moreover, there is no facility of medical and health, education for the children etc. in and around the area. .
Women's Empowerment
Gram Bharati Samiti's women's empowerment project focuses on the formation of self-help groups among the rural women in the Rajasthani countryside, who work together to save and acquire money for themselves and their families by means of small business activity. GBS has a large role in helping the group to get started and later offering the members general guidance and consultation. Environment
Improving ecological balance and upgrading the level of lives of the community people of the area was GBS main objective when it started their project on development of wasteland by planting trees on a desert district in Rajasthan in 1991.Afforestation seemed to be impossible, but now there is an orchard and a small forest having over 50,000 plants of fruits, fodder, fuel, shadow, timber and flowers on this land....

Health & Hygiene
GBS activities carried out in the field of health and hygiene aim at prevention of HIV/AIDS, improvement of reproductive and sexual health, treating STDs/RTIs, organizing specific programme on events like World AIDS Day etc.
Target Population: are tribal communities who have neither been in mainstream of society nor have access to health servies.
Target Area: underdeveloped villages in remote areas far away from cities, link roads and highways.
