We have identified, differential cellular activity patterns in the brain of predator exposed Daphnia, pointing to these cells' involvement in predator perception. Likewise, we describe cells, serving as control centers in the tissues underlying defensive morphological features. These cells control synchronized cell proliferation patterns, leading to morphological defense expression.
